FECAVA Newsletter • March 2025

1. April 2025

Dear FECAVA Community,

March has been a month full of impactful events for FECAVA, starting with EPRUMA’s 20th Anniversary Event. FECAVA President Danny Holmes and Policy Officer Vanessa Chala participated in this milestone event, advocating for responsible antibiotic use and the One Health approach alongside policymakers and industry leaders.

On March 20th, FECAVA proudly supported World Parasite Awareness Day, highlighting the importance of educating pet owners about effective parasite control. We signed an open letter outlining key actions to inform the public and safeguard animal health.

At the Companion Animals Stakeholder Summit, co-hosted with FVE and Zoetis, FECAVA Vice President Ann Criel participated in key discussions on animal welfare, including mandatory microchipping and the veterinarian’s role in addressing ethical issues such as end-of-life care.

FECAVA was also represented at the BSAVA Congress (March 20-22, 2025), with President Danny Holmes and Vice President Ann Criel promoting the FECAVA EuroCongress 2025 in Antwerp. We look forward to welcoming delegates to this premier event for networking and scientific exchange. Congratulations to Laura Oxford, the winner of the BSAVA Congress Draw for a ticket to the FECAVA EuroCongress 2025. Thank you to all those who visited the FECAVA stand and participated in the draw.

Together, we continue to advance veterinary care and animal welfare across Europe.
