FECAVA Newsletter • May 2025
Dear FECAVA community,
This month, we joined the Mental Health Awareness Week—an important opportunity to reflect on the role of mental wellbeing in both our personal lives and professional practice.
The theme for this year, “Community,” highlighted the fundamental role that supportive relationships play in maintaining our mental health. Whether through family, friends, colleagues, or shared-interest groups, these connections help us feel supported, valued, and understood.
The veterinary profession itself is a strong and compassionate community. Being part of FECAVA connects us to a wider network of professionals who not only share our challenges, but who also stand ready to support one another.
Throughout the week, we encouraged members to reach out to colleagues, engage in meaningful conversations, and celebrate the teams that make our work fulfilling. It was truly inspiring to witness the many moments, stories, and reflections you shared—thank you for embracing the spirit of the week.
We encourage you to visit the FECAVA Mental Health & Wellbeing Resource Hub, where support materials are available. If there are additional tools or topics you feel we should address, please don’t hesitate to share your suggestions—we are here to listen and evolve.
Let us carry forward the message of this year’s theme: we are stronger together. Let’s continue building connections, offering support, and reminding one another that no one in our profession is ever truly alone.
