FECAVA Newsletter – March 2020

Dear veterinary clinicians and FECAVA friends, We are facing challenging times trying to provide health care to pets while protecting ourselves and our clients. We are faced with decisions which patients have priority for veterinary care, which can be postponed without risking development of serious health issues and which cases do not need veterinary attention in person. We are searching for solutions on how to connect with our clients via technology, focusing on how to implement telemedicine into our practices to minimize physical contact with clients. And, moreover, trying to provide our clients rational, evidence-based information to avoid massive abandonment of pets around Europe as to this date there is no reliable data to support the possibility that pets could transmit the new coronavirus. We are also aware that the coronavirus pandemic will create an unavoidable substantial economic loss in our profession and probably force us to reorganize our daily working routines. We should not forget that as a profession, we stand united, and we are in this together. FECAVA will support you with reliable information and tools so we bridge this crisis together. Stay safe!
