Dear FECAVA members and supporters,
I hope that you and all your family members are well and that we will be able to leave the still ongoing pandemic soon behind us.
As you (hopefully….) will know, FECAVA is running for almost a year a combined YouTube and podcast format which is called FECAVA VetChat.
At the beginning of this week I had the great pleasure to interview the general manager of the BpT (The German association of practicing veterinarians) Heiko Färber about the threat to a delegated act supplementing EU Regulation 2019/6 – the new Veterinary Medicines Regulation.
A rejection of the delegated act by the European parliament (voting on this issue will take place on the 13th September) would put into question the future access of veterinarians in the EU to a large number of antimicrobial drugs, regardless what species they are treating.
The interview explains the background and the consequences and it informs you about what you as a companion animal practitioner and your clients can do to stop this from happening.

Another – more light hearted – episode of FECAVA VetChat (due out at the end of the month) is introducing you to Rachel Nixon and Lawrence Dodi, two colleagues from Liverpool, who are planning together with their dog Peggy to circumnavigate the Globe in an ambulance !…..
Their epic trip is due to start on 2nd of October at the Royal Albert Docks in Liverpool and the first leg of their trip is taking them through several countries in Europe. You and the members of your national organisation might like to follow their progress and you might even consider inviting them to spend a night on your clinic’s car park?….
